The power combination of hybrids offers you the best of both an electric and a conventional combustion engine vehicle. For instance, when they are stopped in rush hour traffic most car engines are idling and wasting fuel while the hybrid isn't using any fuel! When the driver steps on the gas pedal the electric engine comes to life and instantly propels the car forward until at highway speeds where the combustion engine is used again.
A Hybrid only burns fuel when needed.
